View Full Version : GenCon - so what exactly is going on, anything planned besides karaoke?

Okay, the title says it all - looks like lots and lots of GenCon goers, will be great to see you all!

So anything firm aside from karaoke? When is social stuff happening?

I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread, but it seemed all spread out in multiple places.

I would be up for running various games elsewhere, my room if Chad's not around (unless of course he's playing or doesn't mind, don't get me wrong!) or in the big open gaming areas or such - Dogs in the Vineyard in an alternate setting of the French Terror (Les Chiens de la Terreur), Don't Rest Your Head, Primetime Adventures

I... haven't... actually... made my schedule yet. I'm not running anything for the convention this year and it's made me indolent.

I've deliberately kept my evenings free for partying.

Usually Dave, Leah, and Joe host a party in their room on Wednesday night. Seth isn't going to be able to make it this year ( :( ) so someone else will have to coordinate kareoke night. Don't know what else is going on.

Anyone who wants to exchange cellphone numbers with me, just drop me a PM. Last year I seemed to be sort of the clearing house for contacting people... :doi:

Dave Mattingly will be staying with me and NestorDRod, so party at our place.

As for my GenCon plans... I intend to show up and let you all bask in the glory that is me. ^_^

I also kept evenings free to hang out with people.

I suppose I could give you my cell phone number... just make sure that Keyes guy doesn't keep prank calling me :D

No idea what my volunteering schedule is going to be like, but it would nice to put more faces to names.

I did mine pretty late, just a couple or so weeks ago when Satin Kitty mentioned via email she'd done hers. Really wasn't a lot that I was interested in to be honest, so looking more to ad-hoc gaming.

Oh, I thought Seth was, that's really too bad.

I think I remember where the place is, I'm sure among us we can find it anyway, it wasn't far from the area we're all in.

I just don't have time to coordinate - but Bill you are such a good social sort..... :)

I've just begun to explore the idea of going this year. It's been a long time since I've been to GenCon. Of course, I'd have to get the blessings of my family to take off, spend the money, and snag some vacation time without them. And that's a big "if" right now.

Anybody remember the name of the bar? I can look and see if they're still doing karaoke, and what night...

EDIT: Does this look like the right place? The Ugly Monkey (http://www.theuglymonkey.com/calendar.htm)?

As I'm not sure of my job status (in a good way), I'm not sure I'll have a cell phone number to give out. But I am interested in meeting other Hero peoples. ^_^

Indeed! We'll have some snacks and drinks, and depending on space, might break out some games for those interested.

It was indeed the Simian of SubStandard Sexiness.

I'm still planning on being there if only to make Zornwil's life miserable.
I did schedule a few night games, but I mostly want to hang with my HERO buds so they can be dismissed. :)

I'll be sending my cellular phone via PM.

My days are pretty busy with the Gamers for Humanity (http://www.gamersforhumanity.org) booth, but evenings are open for pick up games or hanging out. Would love to put faces with names.

We normally like to eat at the Ram at least once during the Con, to see their special Gen Con menu. Anyone interested in making plans?

The Ram is good, but you either gotta get there early or late 'cause it's always packed to the gills. Or just not care about waiting in line for an hour. :)

I don't know if I'll have a cell phone come GenCon , but please, keep me in the loop!

I have a VIP card for the Ram, so we get immediate seating. Maybe we can arrange to a dinner or lunch.

They probably frown on Smoke Signal in the convention center... so we'll resort to bird calls. . .
