Well, the wife and I will be heading over from Seattle to see Mr. Long do his Guest of Honor thing.

With any luck robertep will be coming with us.
Is anyone else from the boards going to be there?
Pre-reg ends July 18th and after that the rates go up, as always...

You'll probably want to check Steve's post in the Company Questions board.

Yes... Steve responded to a PM I sent him last night. I think it prompted to him to go ahead and make that post.
I hope he contacts SpoCon and asks them to remove him from the site as a guest.
I think we'll end up going anyway... haven't seen anything west of us in Seattle further than Bellevue at this point.

When Steve L had to pull out of his gaming guest role at SpoCon, the good folks at the convention reached into the endless bag full of the Association of Several Steves and ended up with me, Steve Perrin.
I'm slightly taller, about as nearsighted, and definitely heavier and older. I also wrote most versions of RuneQuest (not the Mongoose version) and have played (and written) a lot of Champions/Hero, including a lot with the original Heroes like Steve Peterson, George MacDonald, Ray Greer, Bruce Harlick, etc.
Look forward to meeting and talking to any of your heroic selves who show up for SpoCon.

BONUS!
That's great... your name certainly graces my bookshelf here and there.
It'll be nice to meet you. And I have to say this makes sticking my Con plans look like a great decision.
Are you planning on running anything?

I will be running a few games. Mostly I will be running my new game, Steve Perrin's Quest Rules, which is a development out of RuneQuest that diverges markedly from the Mongoose version (and previous RQ versions). Character Creation Rules are available on my website, www.perrinworlds.com (http://www.perrinworlds.com), though they are currently undergoing massive revision.
However, now that I consider who I am subbing for, I will also have a backup Champions game featuring the VOICE organization from VOICE of Doom.
See you in Spokane!

Coolness... glad to see they found such a superb replacement!

Name of the Champions game will be VOICE of Chaos.
Frankly, that's as much as I know about it, too. But I expect I'll have something appropriate together by Friday at the convention.
Hope to see some of you there.

Sweet. Do you know when you'll be running this?

Not at all sure. I think it might be Saturday afternoon, or maybe even Sunday.

as my first post in quite a while: I'm going to spocon, look forward to seeing you, unfortunately the Hero group in my area has pretty much died (friends are around, but the gms (mostly me), had a major attack of life and haven't had time to do any sort of campaign stuff) I look forward to getting some roleplaying in this weekend

Well, I had a great time at SpoCon. Unfortunately, the major impetus there was for me to do BRP-related stuff, so that's what happened. I ran my opening scenario for the SPQR game three times and the Champions villains, and miniatures, stayed in my briefcase.
Sorry Charles, and the maybe two other Champs players I talked to. Come down to DunDraCon and maybe we can work something out... ;)
If you are into conventions that are as much about the written word as games, SpoCon is your convention. I have nothing but good things to say about them and Steve L., if you end up being their guest next year, they will take care of you very nicely. It was my first time as a guest of honor and I want to do it every year!
Apparently, with me this year, and either Steve Long or Steve Jackson next year, and if SJ steps in, then Steve L the following year, they have decided that the gaming guest of honor shall always be Steve. Never mind the name they were born with...:D
A great time. Highly recommended convention.
