Hi Gang: I need help with a template. For some reason I can't get the <RULES> code to work in my template. I want to set the Base Points for example but they keep coming up as 0. See the very very end of the attached file.
Did the formatting or layout of this change? How can I get this to work?

I have always done the rules as a separate .hdr file.

Coulda sworn there was a way you could embed the RULES in the template...maybe I am remembering it wrong. Ok... :(

You can include the rules in the template. You can also include a "starting point" character section in the template.
The latter is what's causing your problems -- when you create a new character from a template, it will use whatever is in the CHARACTER section for the points allotments and purchases. No CHARACTER section == 0 base points.
The Base/Disad points in the Campaign Rules is used when assigning the rules to an existing character.
Easiest way to do things is to create a new character using your template. Set the points to where you want them to be and then "Save As Template". That'll set everything up the way you want (you can manually edit afterwards, if you choose).
