Hi all, I'm considering creating some original paper craft models for people to download and build. I know I want some mech for a current Champions campaign, but I as wondering if there were any specific requests out there from people who want free (build-able) miniatures.
I have been using paper model cars and buildings for my Hero Clix, but now that I play more Champions they have made the switch-over. I love having a 3d representation of the battlefield. People can use cars as weapons, leap to the top of buildings, it's a very immersive experience and takes some of the pressure off of me as a GM from time to time.
So... any requests?

Oh yeah, I was going to post the Champions Vehicle Stats with the mechs as well.

I love paper models, although I rarely if ever get to use them.

I have no real requests, just interested to see what you come up with.

Something I'd like is tower crane. You know, a latice work grid about 2 meteres per side but 50 stories tall? It's just something I've not found in any artwork anywhere... and I want to hit somebody with one.

That's funny, I was just looking at one today after supper when I was strolling around a construction site on a local university campus. Hmm... It'd be a big papermodel.. Maybe too big for my purposes, but still a good suggestion.

You definitely have my curiosity piqued, I'd love to see what you come up with. I can imagine it would be very cool to play with the 3D view of the scene.

I don't have any specific needs at the moment, but here are some suggestions I can think of for your typical city scapes:

Autos (obvious, but here to be complete)
Vans, Armored Cars (what supers game doesn't need an armored car?), bus
News stand
Park Bench, Bus stop stand (3 sided structure for inclement weather waiting)
Vending Machines (sodas, newspapers, etc.)
Road blocks
Vendor Carts (hot dogs, Falafel, etc.)
Phone booth (not too common these days)
Trees, shrubs, light poles

After seeing the buildings in your other thread, I'd like to get everything you're willing to share. I've wanted to do the 3-D map thing, but don't have very many models collected at this time. If you offer them, I will stea..., err borrow them. :D

Thanks... the buildings were my mods of existing papermodels. The street stuff was bought and downloaded so I best not post it here. I'll see what I can do with some original stuff. I teach a computer art course where my students design their own original paper models so it would be good practice for me.
Some good links though you should try are:

The Nissan site has some awesome cars that are roughly heroclix scale.

Same with the daihatsu site....

I bought the city stuff a while back and have only recently started building. I look for 1.5" scale and have been resizing the old 1" stuff to fit.

Those site should get you started.. It's addictive really.

Ok.. here is the first installment. The vending machines are mine, but I believe the coke machine came from another source, the structure anyway.

I had bought a kit or two from Worldworks a while back, mainly for autos plus some stuff for heroes to throw around or agents to hide behind (like dumpsters, crates, and so on). The bus and van worked great, but the sports car was a pain in the kiester and I eventually gave up trying to put one together.

I'll have to check out the sites you posted in detail; at a quick glance some of them looked like they might work nicely. Many thanks. I'd have repped you, but I've given out too much in the last 24 hours and need to wait a bit.

It a group that is set up for cardstock warhammer 40K models which could fill in several niches in a champions game

Worldsworks has a great little thing going on.
We should give them serious pressure to expand the superhero line.

Microtactix is working on the website, but I like the easy models they make.

One free site is http://www.germy.co.uk/
Just scale up the floorplans or cellar in a graphic editing program and viola, you have the correct scale.

Just putting some finishing touches on a building I've wanted to do for a long time.
I'm trying to keep these relatively simple for people.
