area of effect /explosion?

i'm new to the game system and the forums and i was wondering i picked up the hero designer version 3 and i'm looking for this skill or power and its not listed i'm wondering how do i create it so i can build my brick character with a t least some kind of vicious attack

This is a little vague, what Power or Skill is not listed that you are looking for?

Or more precisely - what end result are you trying to achieve? ("vicious" is not specific enough, as that will vary widely from game to game.)

Area Effect and Explosion are not powers, they are advantages that add onto powers. Check the 'modifers' button when you are creating/editing a power. (That's where they are in v2, I don't have v3 yet.)

Area of Effect/Explosion are both Power Advantages put on a power; you'd select the power (say, Energy Blast), then open up 'Modifiers', then select Area of Effect or Explosion from that menu.

Applying these to STR is probably under "Naked Advantages" or some similar name in HD.
