WoTC has announced that Code Monkey (the folks behind PCGen) will be releasing a patch to fix about 40 bugs in the e-Tools package. Code Monkey also gains the right to make templates for its own PCGen software from WoTC products.

It would appear that Fluid Studios has been fired; perhaps not surprising considering how long it took them to finish eTools and how little was actually achieved. (Although in their defense, I think WoTC made several design changes midstream that complicated their efforts).

This will be ongoing. CMP has promised to produce the initial patch within 90 days. They will then continue to support E-Tools. They will be in charge of producing the splat packs for E-Tools and PCGen. The splat packs will sell for around $5.00. So while PCGen core and E-Tools patch will be free the add-ons will incur a minimal cost.

The Code Monkeys are hard workers, so I figure it will take about 2 years to equal the current quality of HD....:D

And by that time Fantasy Hero will be out in force....so can anyone say RIP D&D :p
