Manditory reading for anyone doing Golden Age comics.

So can anyone explain why the governor had a bedroom door made of solid steel?

Unpopular in his second term?

"Believing the governor menaced by a madman, the butler produces a concealed weapon!"

The butler is wearing a bathrobe. I guess he always lounges around with a pistol.

That might explain why the governor's bedroom door is made of steel: protection from the butler.

More Supes goodness:

That's a good site for Superman fans overall. One of the links on that page leads to scanned copies of Jerry Siegel's original preproduction cartoon strip (http://superman.ws/tales2/adventurestrip/) which is interesting reading; it's cool to see what was in the original concept and what was added by later writers.

And for good measure, I'll throw in a link to Mike Surbrook's Superman adaptation (http://www.devermore.net/surbrook/adaptionscomic/superman.html) based on the original 1938 comic. Although written in 4th edition, it holds up really well under 5th edition rules, up to and including its 250-point total cost (Steve suggests this level for Golden Age supers).
