View Full Version : Modular themebooks?

One thing I have noticed about hero is it's lack of good old modular microbooks. While the books I have bought so far are well written and designed, I have found that small focused books that can be purchased work better (for me) and allow people to design easier.

For example, picture a set of books like this:
- Cybernetic power prebuilds.
- Biotech power prebuilds.
- CyberHacking equipment and rules.
- Weapons of CyberPunk.
- Villains and Victims of CyberPunk.
- CyberPunk, the setting! (includes occupations, places, and the like)

Each of the books could be a short 64 page book dealing with a single aspect of prebuilt options for characters.

This would also allow such things as quick prebuild option books being mixed and matched, such as using cyberware in a fantasy game as magical enhancements.

Mind you, it's just a thought, and yes, I know it may raise the price of suppliments, since it's cheaper to print large books than several small books, but it would just be nice to be able to hear a player say "I want this!" And drop 3 small books in front of him with the prebuilds he needs to make it.

Not a bad idea in my opinion. I suspect Steve's going to squash it, but it would work for me.;)

I think those would be great Hero Plus options... start writing.

First, this isn't the appropriate forum for this issue; but you could raise it for conversation on Discussion or Company Questions. So I'm locking this thread, but you're welcome to introduce the topic elsewhere.

Second, we have no plans for any such books at this time. In general I think our customer base prefers larger, more detailed books, and I certainly prefer to write them.
