Our understanding of the relation between the water jets and the "tiger stripes" has been refined a bit.

Interesting; the jets' origins are more localized than had been thought.

Cool! My campaign has a colony on Enceladus that is studying this phenomenon close up. If the geyser actually is a water jet, the colony can also be a supplier to the other Saturnian colonies.

Oh, they're water alright. And there's quite a few of them, so your colony is going to have a bit of a problem keeping a lock on the resource. ;)

Another cause for the war? Since this moon (among others) is contested territory.

A rare and valuable resource is always a good* excuse for a war.

*"Good" in the sense of likely, having verisimilitude. Not in the sense of morally justifiable.

Man, Voyager and subsequent probes have sure killed the idea of a "Quiescent" outer system, haven't they?

What's that? I can't hear you! There's too much noise from the outer solar system!

I wish they'd turn the music down.

Indeed. In the space environment, water is a very valuable resource. It can be used for propellant, in life support, as a feedstock for a "regenerative" fuel cell, and many more uses.
