Random Character Creation

Helllllloooooo there,

So I’m working on the second for Kamarathin and it is going to be a random character creation system for the Kingdom of Tursh, easily capable of having the new races/cultures/countries added as we publish new books.

However, this is a very tedious process of creating tables and then creating more tables and then creating…well, you get the idea.

So I was thinking that if I have several folks make characters with this process as I go, then I’ll just develop the tables that they generate a need for and I’ll be able to playtest the validity of the system at the same time. In theory, we should be able to make A LOT of characters in this fashion and it will make my job a bit more interesting.

Each character will have it's own post that I will update at each stage of development.

CHILDHOOD

Age 9: All public assistance is terminated because the Duchy/Barony/City is at war. This causes bloody riots in the poor sectors of towns and villages. The characters family is very much involved in these uprisings against the ruling class.
Age 11-16: A chance encounter. In a lonely place, the character meets an intriguing follower of Asuna
#1: The character studies with the Asunite priesthood for 1 year. (Gain Layman Package)
#2: The character studies with the Asunite priesthood for 4 years.
#3: Character joins the Church of Asuna. (Gain Asunite Priest package)
Age 13: The followers of an unheard-of-god from another land have followed omens that led them to the character. Their omens indicate that the character is to be the mate of an avatar of their god. The character initially disagrees and is still harassed by the god’s followers. (Gain Hunted: Followers of [unknown god] 8- (As Pow, Capture))
Age 17: The character begins his adulthood 8 years later than normal.
