Self Referential Questions re: the boards

I realize I picked the worst possible time to ask this, but I had a couple of questions about the boards.

1. Is it possible to stick a plain old "Login" button somewhere on the page near the top? When I get logged off I have to go into "Check Profile" and then back, back, reload. It would be nice to just have one button.

2. Is the Search function messed up? I'm trying to search for posts by Steve Long with the phrase "instant change" in them, and it's only showing two entire postings that have the words "instant" and "change" in them. I know for certain that Steve has addressed the issue multiple times, but I can't find them.

1. That's one for Ben.

2. To the extent I've addressed that issue, I've probably done so in the context of "activating Powers," and may not have used the phrase "Instant Change." In any event, anything truly useful that I wrote is probably in the Rules FAQ anyway.

2. It seemed to me there was more that you'd talked about than was there; I was specifically looking for the bits on activating Powers. I'll do a search on that phrase and see if it gives more hits.

If you are logged off just go to the front page of the Boards. There should be a login and password field there.

Is there any way to get that login space up to the very top of the page, top center, or somewhere else that makes it more visible? I didn't know it was there until just now.

I run into the problem of getting logged off regularly during my perusings of the site so it doesn't do me any good to log on in the beginning because without fail I will have to cut and paste my post after logging back in on 9 out of 10 posts. Is this something I'm doing wrong, am I out of favor with the HERO gods or is this a glitch? it doesn't seem to matter whether I'm on my computer at home or either of two at work.
