I've been working on some downloadable 6"x6" Terrain Maps. They are nothing special, but they have some nice detail. I put them on the download section of My Website (http://www.silentempire.com) . There aren't a lot of them yet, but I'm working on it. Anyway, you can find them in My Download section (http://silentempire.com/downloads.php)

I've only just looked at the pizza parlor so far, but I like.

These are awesome. :D Looks like I'll be right clicking my little, minion fingers off when I get home this evening. The maps are fantastic. I love the 'cycle mini, too. I used to have a 600 Ninja myself, until parenthood and responsiblity got in the way (Mrs13 made me sell it. :(). If I might ask, what are you using to make the maps? I'd be interested in giving it a go, myself. Thanks for all the hard work. Now I can see why we haven't seen you for a while.

Thanks. I do all the work in Photoshop 7.0
With the Maps I make a 6"x6" file at 300 pixels per inch and I draw everything by hand. Then I add the Hexes and fade them. Then I reduce to 100 pixels per inch.
My future plans are:
Hospital Interior (using the Warehouse format)
High-School Interior (using the Warehouse format)
Park Monument add-on(an overlay for the park)
Convenience Store (using the standard store format)
Mad Scientist Lab (using the Large Builing Format)
Headquarters/Mansion (using the Warehouse format)
Prison/Superprison (using the Warehouse format)
As far as the Minis, I will probably add some more, but most of mine are reduced scanned images that HERO will probably sell (so I don't want to violate any copyrights)

Well' let's just say I'm impressed. Keep 'em comin' and I'll keep stea##... ahem, I mean borrowing 'em. As for the minis, I have some 700 or so character jpg's that I'm making into minis. Plus the Marvel ones, and the old SJG Cardboard Heroes. I think I have more than enough. :D I do like the SWAT/agent minis. You can never have enough soldier/agents.

These are obviously well thought out to be used in a modular way. I like that type of format. It is great for ad hoc areas/battles. Major kudos.

For those of you downloading the maps, I updated the Road Tee (http://silentempire.com/downloads/terrain/modern/1inch_road_tee.jpg) . After printig, it was out of alignment with the other road segments. That has now been fixed.

Another update.
I added the 4 sections of the Mad Scientist Lab (http://silentempire.com/downloads.php) and an add-on (http://silentempire.com/downloads/addons/1inch_lab_addons.jpg) for the lab that contains:
1)A Nuclear Missile
2)An Atomic Brain in a vat
3)A Huge creature under glass
and
4)A Laser containment grid.

I've loved em all but the last batch have been among the best. That pizza parlor still stands out.
I spent almost $20.00 on SJG's Haunted house floorplans and, save for allready being printed and with hex& square grid, they didn't look as nice as your stuff.
Thanks again for making them available.

Even more crunchy map goodness! I'm hardly able to contain myself. If you continue to make them, we will come (and "borrow" them). :D
Thanks for sharing.

I agree with the previous posters. Excellent work. Professional quality. I would pay for most of them. I hope we don't use up all of the bandwith allotment of your site downloading these things. :)
I'm going to laminate them. I used a few of them today in my gaming session. Aside from the common problem of sliding around (I gotta find a sticky mat), they worked fine.

Print them on static plastic sheeting (the stuff they make window decals from)
Print them on heavy card stock
Attach velcro to each side, and allow it to overhang so that the pieces can be velcroed in together
Attach a thin piece of rubber pad to the bottom (the stuff they put on the bottom of coasters
Just a few ideas there.

Typically, I use a little of that blue tacky stuff to secure the map... and I plan to laminate them myself and I recommend printing them on cardstock.

Those are WAY cool! I have recieved prods from the folks that have played in my dark champions campaign about one too many warehouse - You have freed me from the barren wasteland of warehouses!
regarding the sliding around - ruber shelf paper and super glue or some other adhesive works wonderfully to keep terrain flat and from sliding. I used that for my mage-knight terrain. There is also the tape it to the darn battle mat theory as well.

The next project will probably be a Shopping Mall with Add-ons and Minis (to take advantage of the printed area of the page)
I appreciate the support

Those are some great maps. I always grab maps of parks, malls, houses, etc. whenever I go just to use them as maps for Champions. I have a huge collection just waiting to be put onto hex paper.

As soon as I get a scanner I would be more than happy to share them. Does anyone know if Kinkos or a similar place offers scanner use?

Actually most if not all Kinkos should have an available scanner on both their PC and MAC rental computers. Take it from a former Kinko's employee.

A zip and a tar file (for Linux users) will be available with "sets" (street, buildings, mall, lab, etc)... soon

Very. The resusts are nice, but the quality is not greatly imprved. I have found medium card stock to give the best results.

Thanks for the support. I haven't forgotten you guys, I've just been working dilligently on scanning and colorizing the pics from CKC and converting them to minis for my own campaign... as well as working on the Mall, which is about 50% finished. Dragon*Con is this weekend, so the mall should be finished early next week.

We all love you, Mr. Vimes. You've had enough fun at DragonCon, now get back to work.
I like the maps a lot. I have one nit-picky comment: the backgrounds for the lab interior are too dark. I prefer the lighter background used for the other building maps.

Ditto on the cardstock working well.
/begin run-on sentence/
Since most of us are probably printing these on an inkjet, and many printer inks smudge when they get wet, and many gamers have soda and other foods around the table, it's probably best to seal the surface so you don't have to print and cut a new set of maps for every game session.
/end/
After cutting, try spreading them face up on cardboard or newspapers, then spray with clearcoat. Laminating is always an option, but it will be a lot tougher to trim all the maps to size.

Another very interesting sidenote would be that if you use a plastic cover, laminate, etc. you can draw right on the surface usually with a dry erase or wet erase marker depending on the type of plastic.

I'm just going to have them laminated and then use a paper cutter on them to slice them all down to size. I don't really care if there's a sliver showing. It's close enough for government work.

I just got through looking at the floorplan templates on your website, and
they're fantastic, to say the least. Do you have any plans to create other
floorplan add-ons for the existing plans (say, for example, something like
the Time Tunnel or the Stargate for the Mad Scientist's hideout)?
