i was wondering if when an athlete character is banned from his sport for having banned substances in his/her system even if it comes from legimate medication, is it a social limitation banned from sport or medically ineligible to compete of course it could be a reputation disadvantage alleged steroid user

At a guess it could be both, depending upon how the athlete is viewed by the public. Barry Bonds, for example, would definitely have the Reputation even though he's not technically banned from baseball. Alex Rodriguez, on the other hand, isn't viewed nearly as negatively, so would not have the Reputation. Of course neither are banned from baseball, so the point is moot. Pete Rose might be a better example (though his ban is for gambling rather than steroids), as he has both the Social Limitation: Banned from Baseball and the Reputation: Gambler.

Definitely a social limitation. If it's a lucrative career or he is a famous athlete, it would be worth 10-15 points.

For a banned player I'd go with both a reputation as a cheater and a social limitation for the lifetime ban.
I once had a character that was an MD who lost his license because of a substance abuse problem and I went with both in that instance. The rep was pretty minor in that case since he wasn't a celebrity like an athlete.

and if the athlete was reinstatedafter the danned substances wore off it would be an unfair rep right[in my example the substances came from legitimate perscribed medication taken inocently
