A few months ago Steve Long was soliciting suggestions for a military SF reading list in preparation for working on Alien Wars. That would suggest that Steve plans to write the book himself, although it could have been just to prepare himself to edit it and make specific contributions.

I believe that Allen Thomas, Hero assistant line editor, is writing Alien Wars. For those not familiar with Allen's work, he is the author of the soon-to-be-released Shades of Black (kicking off the Hero Plus PDF line), one of the authors of Champions Battleground, and author of the "Your Horoscope For ..." articles in Digital Hero.
