Hello all,

I'm sure this question has been posed before, however the GM and I are at odds.

A character with 2d6 HKA, 45 str, and 12" move does a move through. Paying for strength twice, he is able do 4d6 KA and 13d6 normal (from the move through). Is this right? Can you use your strength twice?

He quotes page 235 (5th Ed)(paragraph 2) Multiple power attacks; saying he can, while I say page 125 of the old UMA say no.

Is there official ruling?

thanks

5E 271 indicates: “Maneuvers involving movement, such as Move Bys and Move Throughs, add extra damage because of their velocity and momentum. The character must pay END for any movement and for the STR involved.” Ergo, a character can in essence “double up” on his STR by using it to enhance a Power like HA or HKA according to that Power’s rules, and by using it via a Move By/Through as well. (Note, however, that the rules on the same page limit the STR you can apply when calculating damage while making a Move By/Through with weapons.) The GM is, as always, free to change this if he feels it’s causing balance problems in his campaign.
