I searched as well as I could through the boards, but I wasn't able to find a previous post about this. So here I go!
Does anyone remember the Lone Wolf series of adventure books?
Covers and info: http://www.gamebooks.org/lonewolf.htm
You, the reader, play as Lone Wolf, a warrior-monk whose potential as a hero emerges from the tragic defeat of his teachers and kinsmen, known as the Kai Lords. These are solo adventures that can be read and interpreted at your leisure, bringing a unique experience to the reader. You do not only make key decisions in the text, but also choose your equipment and unique abilities, which may help you to survive through encounters that have both strategic and random elements.
Anyway, now they are available for reading (and play) online for free here:

This group of fans has painstakingly recreated the series, including the original artwork, page numbers, and so forth. They've even fixed problems, typos, and clarified things in the original text. (It's all with permission and blessing from the author and artists as well!) You can play them online or download the HTML pages to your computer.
The site is very nicely designed and a lot of fun to read. I've had this in my bookmarks for a while now and thought I'd finally share it with everyone!

I'm a huge fan of Lone Wolf and have a big collection of the books but I'm missing quite a few. Having access to them all - including the hard to find The Magnamund Companion - is fantastic. I can't thank you enough for this. :hail:

Yeah; here's my Kai (http://www.killershrike.com/FantasyHERO/ConversionMagnamund/default.aspx) Conversion. And here is the Magnamund (http://www.killershrike.info/FantasySettingsMagnamund.ashx) listing on High Fantasy wiki.
Loved Lone Wolf as a kid!

Just go to the "Books" page and scroll down to "World of Lone Wolf." There they are. :D

The first book I read was #3, The Caverns of Kalte, a bitterly cold and wintery story. It kept asking me if I had the Sommerswerd, but of course I didn't. I was frustrated because I couldn't figure out where to find it -- then realized quickly that it was in an earlier book!
The best Discipline to get was Sixth Sense. It would help you out of so many predicaments.
Upon revisiting the books later, the world is more like Sword & Sorcery than typical fantasy fare. The books were rather dark.

Thanks Jhaierr. Rep given for an awesome resource link. I really loved these books as a youngster. I'm almost afraid to read them now though. The Magnamund Companion looks like it could serve as the foundation for a whole campaign setting in and of itself. Just add stats.
Thanks again.

Also a huge fan, I managed to get as far as #25 (Trail of the Wolf), plus two of the Grey Star stories.
For what it's worth, Mongoose is releasing new editions of the gamebook series (Quality's...well, there've been a few re-issues), but I love it, warts and all.

Whenever I see "lone wolf" I think of "lone wolf and cub." These I had never heard of. I'm always looking for light reading to relax my brain with. Thanks for the link. I'll take a look.
