Thank you for your reply,

I do understand that the GM has last say.

However, I would like to know the original intent of a weaponed move through. Was it originally meant so that one could hit with the weapon (Maxing the DC with str) and then also do move through damage? Or that str and the move through damage just add to the weapon in the form of extra DC up to the max DC (double the weapon)?

I'm sorry, but I don't discusses rules design/philosophy questions here (and rarely anywhere else, for that matter). Such discussions are best saved for the "Discussions" board, so that the fan community as a whole can participate.

To the extent there might be a rules question in your post, the answer is, as stated in 5E, that the various forms of increasing damage -- STR, maneuvers, velocity, and so forth -- cannot, taken all together, more than double a weapon's damage. You don't apply the damage once with one "enhancer," then a second time with a second enhancer. 5E 271 has a general discussion of these issues.
