I think they've made a major mistake with Planet of the Apes. It cannot be that far ahead; the copper-clad Statue of Liberty would have decayed to unrecognizability in less than 500 years, and the Nuke in Beneath would have also degraded below criticality.

Careful, I think you're confusing reality and Hollywood there.

Nothing wrong with using in-medium references to place or date a scene. Especially when they give no reference dates.

The problems are when they DO give reference dates and the in-medium logic contradicts it.

The guy who made the chart said he used Wikipedia to see if a date was listed for various movies.

That would depend on when the nuke was built and when people stopped maintaining the statue. The 2500 benchmark is based on the timeline in Escape from the Planet of the Apes, where according to Cornelius, it takes 300 years for apes to make the transition from pet to servant and 200 years more for the slaves to rebel.

For the record, Kazei 5 fits in between 12 Monkeys and Demolition Man at 2030.

True. Though the later films seem to contradict this.

Given that time travel was involved, time line inconsistencies can be dismissed.

And then what would we have to argue about?
Though my main concern is that this house doesn't have a basement, because after seeing what the future will bring, I badly want to be down there with my head under a blanket.

And on a different note, where's The Terminator for 1997 and 2029?
