Has anyone done or seen an adaptation of Ogami Itto of Lone Wolf and Cub?

You mean in RPG or Hero form? No. Seems like a fairly straightforward heroic Ninja Hero campaign with a gadget pool thrown in, though.

A Hero version of Itto would be nice... Byt, hey, any Hero treatment on medieval Japan would be welcome. Has there ever been an official book on the subject? Are there any good websites? I'm a complete newbie at the Hero system, I got FREd just a few weeks ago, but I really like what I've seen so far, and I really, really like LW&C...

I can recommend the Sengoku RPG, which was done in Champions Lite and is therefore relatively easy to convert. Lots of good source material. Make sure to check out the Shinobi (ninja) supplement too.
Of course, you're still going to have to write up the Suio style on your own. :D

I've been thinking about it, and all I've come up with is Environmental Movement: Standing in Water, worth 3 points... Oh, and WF: Thrown Sword, but I don't think that would be part of Suio Ryu... :)
How would you do the barehanded-sword-capturing, throwing-it-back-at-the-fella-you-took-it-from technique?

You can also try:

For feudal japanese goodness.

With regard to Suio style, it is supposed to be a soft, fluid style.
So environmental movement is good, as would be attacks combined with movement.
I'd suggest:
Block
Passing strike
Martial strike
Defensive strike
Disarm
Block
Running Dodge
as the basic elements, and for the dirty tricks department:
Flash (flick water in their faces)
Images (feint: only to appear to be doing a different maneuver) This simulates the "holding the sword underwater" trick.
Itto clearly has thrown sword as a WF and the grabbing the sword trick is either disarm or takeaway, depending on how you see it.

Thanks, Markdoc, that seems to be what I need...!
Though I'm thinking of picking up Sengoku, but before or after Fantasy and Star Hero...? Hmmm, conundrum... :)

Lone Wolf and Cub HERO, eh? I can just see the chaos now,
when the Baby Carriage From Hell takes out the first NPC
victims of the campaign...

Images hell, crank up the bleeding rules for that campaign. :) Of course the extreme bleeding is more a feature of the movies than of the manga... but still. And hit locations! Definitely hit locations.

Considering how deadly combat is in the LW&C universe, I think all optional damage effect rules should be used.
Well, maybe not knockback... :D

Considering that almost everyone is running around in DEF 0 kimonos, and almost all the significant players have martial arts, I think the spray-of-blood issues would be well taken care of.
You're looking at average damage of 7-11 bod off an average hit . Ugh!

The bad guys wear mail under their shirts in issue #1. But, yeah, practically no one in LW+C wears armor of any kind. They're just too good to need armor.
