Experience Points

I've looked through the Hero Designer 1.47 documentation and searched around for a FAQ (didn't find one), but cannot seem to find any information on how to assign experience under the "Basic Info." tab.

Base Points: 250
Max. Disad Points: 150
Disad. Points Used: 150
Experience Earned: 28
Experience Spent: 0
Unspent Experience: 28
Total Points Spent: 278

I have added and subtracted powers to my character, but the Experience Spent number stays at 0.

What am I doing wrong?

Experience is used as needed. First base points are used, then disad points (if purchased), then experience.

In the example you posted, the Experience will only be used once the character exceeds 400 points (you've spent 278 so far)

If you have a character which hasn't used all of its maximum Base Points and/or Disads on creation, you can just reset the "Base Pts" and/or "Max Disadvantages" fields to however much they have used. From that point on, the "Experience Spent" field will come into play.

Not that it's been a major problem here -- I've had players not take all the Disads they're entitled to, but I don't think I've ever had one which didn't milk every last drop from their Base Points.
