Holy polyhedrons! That's an incredible bargain in terms of the price of admission. I know a lot of cons, probably smaller ones to boot, that would charge 2-3 times that, or more. Any idea what the annual attendance is? They say they've been around for 30 years and that John Kovalic is slated as a guest, so it must be at least decent-sized.

Do not know what the turn out was for last year. But I can inquire. I am excited.

Expected attendance this year is ... well, who knows? Last year we had 400 paid discrete people and 100 free GMs and dealers. We had an overwhelming response last year and
kudos on massive improvements. We think that will translate into a larger show, but we're reasonably sure we can at least maintain last year's numbers, but we're hoping for more!

Cheers!

Hey, I live in the area. I stopped by briefly with the non-Gamer Significant Other. it is a very nice place but I consider it a fairly smaller convention.

They had a whole Dork Storm area last year. I figure that is mostly due to the fact that John Kovalic lives in the area. If you actually read the Tower and want to find out what a Beef-a-roo is... They have them in Rockford!

Take that Dan Simon!

You to Ned Bacon!

I'll see you there, Barton!

Sorry Barton, I'm only going to be able to make it to RockCon on Friday and Saturday. I just recently found out we have a tournament on that Sunday.

What are the chances?

Is anyone else of Hero-dome headed for Rockford in November?

I now have prizes (Champions related Hero books) for my events. I have several people promising to attend my Saturday game (If they all show up I would still have two slots open) and my Sunday event is for 10! Please drop by and check it out.

I made it to the Saturday event. There were two other guys from these boards playing in that event. It went fairly well, I think.

How did the rest of your slots go, Barton?

My second event was good. "Rumble in Chicago" was a combat based game. I used heroclix minitures and premade characters. I encouraged the players (6 of them; 2 adults and 4 kids) to roleplay as much as possible. They had a good time.
The two teams [they named the teams] were the "Incredible 2 and 1/8" vs. "Two Girls, a Ninja, and Superpowers".
The adults had played Champions over 10 years ago and the kids were new. By the end of the four and half hours they had the mechanics down well and were roleplaying the characters quite well!
I will post more later including photos of the event.

PS Attendence was roughly 600 up from last year!

Made it to the Saturday a.m. event myself. Had a blast following Ironclad around trying (unsuccessfully) to keep him from destroying municiple property.

Barton, I enjoyed your gaming style. Thanks again for the invite and drop me an email if you're looking for another player for your regular game.
