Version has Expired message

Hi.

I got the 2.0.22 welcome screen. Then it tells me my version is expired and to go to the HeroDesigner Website.

I have done the steps in the Update page with no luck.

Help please.

You need to start from a fresh HD v1 installation, not one of the 2.0 test versions.

Will V2 work through a firewall? I know v1 did not.

AFAIK, no. HD 2.0 test requires you to connect to the internet. I was having issues with that, "must have new version" and ended up having to turn off the entire Norton Security package (not just turn off the firewall, the whole danged thing).

Once the program loads, you can turn on the firewall and proceed.

HD communicates with the server via port 80 (normal for web traffic). Many strict firewalls will still block it, however, as it is not a web browser (and does not pretend to be).

The requirement to communicate with the server is in place for the test versions only. It (obviously) won't be a part of the final release.
