I have Vista and have tried the examples on the site to try opening it with the bin/javaw and even bin/javaws. Neither one of them have worked so far. I get an unavailable to launch notice.

Help,

Step 1. Look at what you are saving the file as. If you're using IE, chances are likely that you're saving the file as "HDv3Setup.zip". Don't. Save it as "HDv3Setup.jar"

Step 2. Assuming the file has the proper extension, double-click on it. Don't manually set file associations or anything else. Just double-click. If the file still opens with your compression software (e.g. WinZip) and you're sure that it is saved as HDv3Setup.jar (and not .zip) then....

Step 3. Download in install (re-install) Java on your system. Re-installing Java will reset the file associations for you so you don't have to worry about it. It will also ensure that you have the most recent runtime environment. You can get java from http://java.com

Remember to change the directory to one that you have full access to -- Program Files is considered a protected directory under Vista's UAC and you will be prevented from installing HD there. Typically, it's best to use your Users (C:\Users\[your username]) directory or your Documents directory.
