so I was looking at the automatons powers and it got me thinking what powers do you think make more sense as powers that a base. Note all base powers take days of game time to work Some ideas I have so far are
locate: this is the base version of mind scan
study: this power is a basically a detect power that works for csi work.
gather Intel: this power grants a bonus to combat and skills but you must know your target
I'm still working on cost

All of those can be done within the existing rules:
Locate is Detect with Targeting and Tracking.
Study: Detect (Evidence)
Gather Intel: CSLs with Conditional Modifier (Must have studied target) -1 plus Skill Levels With (Target), Conditional Modifier (Must have studied target) -1

You know, I've always wondered what a "Deduction Lab" might be. The Ultimate Base has a really good suggestion for an active Deduction Lab, but nothing to represent the scene in the movie where the hero sits alone with all the evidence he has and just thinks on the puzzle.
Seems to me "Study" is a great SFX for a base to buy Deduction. Or, and this is where I diverge from Steve on thinking, a bonus to Deduction Rolls. I think some Labs should be built as bonuses as opposed to full Skills.

In modern times a deduction lab should have a computer which you can add facts to and allows you to use a smart search engine to find correlations that might not be obvious

Don't forget transparent dry erase boards and cork boards.

Those (computers, dry erase boards, cork boards and walls with polaroids) are all Special Effects of the Deduction in the first place. IMO.

but put them all in the same place and you've got yourself a Deduction Lab

Figuring out the Big Bad's plan in your lab, with all the boards and pictures is a lot easier then doing it in a 10x10 concrete cell. You can figure things out with no tools (after all, you probably got some clues from the monologging fiend before he tossed you into the aforementioned cell) But they do make it easier to work things out (hence the lab).
