When i first opened the prog it ok but as i cliked on things it started to act screwy.
the powers button seems to be the culprate. when i clik it it just slows down to a crawl and i have to resize the windo and hit other tab till i get a giant gre window and if i clik on somthing it finaly appears.
but the other buttons work fine but on powers it goes crazy.
any advice, i updated my java just to see and it still the same.

Something's extremely wrong on your system. Updating your java won't do anything...HD uses it's own copy (built in).
There's nothing different on the Powers tab....it's exactly like the others (using the same code).
You may want to try re-installing from scratch.
A bit more detail of what's going on may help....

Also please post a copy of the trace.log file (in your install directory) after this problem occurs.

Before going all the way to reformating, there's other things you can try.
One thing that I've seen in the past is that a particular Java installation will hork Java on the entire system. Best way to fix it is to uninstall all Java installations from your system and then reinstall the current JVM from Sun....and then install HD.
Your call.

Found part of the problem. It only happens on my chars i made with version 1.

Works ok with the pre chars from the free downloads but on 2 of my chars it dose the same thing were the power tab does not want to display any powers.
Works ok so far with new chars but why are all the template that ver 1 came with gone i liked those. Good thing i kept them LOL.

Found it.
The problem was on the Enhanced Senses.
Enhanced Senses have gone through a complete re-write from v1.
The characters were throwing errors during the load which were causing the problems.
I've got the errors fixed, but there's going to be some manual work on v1 characters with Enhanced Senses....you'll need to go in and edit them to set the proper Senses and Sense Groups. The costs should still be right, but the displays will be along the lines of "Additional Sense Group".
