Hey everyone, I'm going to be running a sci-fi game soon using the 6th edition rules, and I was wondering if the Star Hero book from 5th edition would be fairly easy to use alongside it? There isn't a copy at my FLGS, or I'd go take a look.

Pretty easy, yes. You would have to recalculate some of the builds. But the wealth of non-Mechanics info in it is perfectly useful in any edition.

Honestly, as Star hero is a heroic setting (equipment is free) you don't even really need to rework alot of builds if you don't want to. You would still need to rework some stuff (Inherent powers) but equipment is the main thing and it does not matter in heroic settings if the cost is slightly off as the characters don't pay for it

I think the biggest reworking would be redoing any Package Deals, and then only if they gave various Characteristic modifications.

Oh, and calling them "Templates" now.
