Has anyone looked at the combination of these two powers together for possible uses? After watching the movie Avatar, the idea of using them together seemed like a natural.

Not Possession specifically, but I have used the combination of Summon with a possession-like build (Mind Link, Desolid, Clinging) for a poltergeist that could animate piles of junk into temporary bodies. In that case, the Mind Control aspects were unnecessary, as I just summoned the junkpiles with Amicable +1.

Wouldn't this sort of summon be more like a multi-form? You create a new form and then inhabit it.

The difference would be that a Multiform construct retains damage taken in any of the other forms. With Summon and Possession (especially if you take the "No Feedback" Advantage), it creates a sort of disposable body. The Summoned body (whether its a clone, robot, demon, whatever) takes any damage, and the possessor is just the pilot, safe somewhere else. It's like a form of telepresence. I guess the movie Surrogates might be a better example.
