Well, first off, don't panic....sounds like you've got a prefab loading in that's causing some issues. Since you're the only one reporting a problem like this (of the several hundred that are testing against the current version), it's likely something moderately obscure in one of the prefabs that you have loading in.

This is why we're testing: to find all the bugs before release.

I'll need some more information on your end before I can fix it, however. The easiest thing is going to be for you to post the file "trace.log" (in your install directory) after the error occurs. That file should have all the information I need on the error.

Thanks for the reply, and advice, and sorry about the reply delay.

The situation is as follows:

- I re-installed HD v 1.0, and updated to 1.47 again. (after posting yesterday)

- Read your reply today . . . unloaded the prefabs (custom and "Hero's').

- Trace.log only had information from yesterday . . . 8-(

- Re-upgraded to v 2.0.27, re-loaded the prefabs . . . I'm trying to make it fail but HD is taking it all . . . it just won't fail today . . . 8-)

- Trace.log now off course only shows today's actions . . . unfortunately no help with the failing / error message issue I was having. . . many apologies.

- I will HD as is, for now, and if it starts to fail again, I will post the trace.log file.

Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it.

Try this:

With all the prefabs loaded that you had before (when the problem occurred), close all characters. Make sure that "Load Prefabs on Startup" is selected under your prefernces and then shut down and restart HD.

The idea is to have all of the prefabs loaded in with no active characters....that's one place that I had seen a couple of problems earlier....it's possible that I missed one when I was fixing it.

Will do, and I will let you know if it doesn't work out.

Thanks again, I appreciate the fast responses.

So much for the smooth operations of HD . . . 8-(

Here are four traces files, from tonight. (zipped into 1 file) I hope they help.

Please feel free to ask for additional information, and I will provide it, as best I can.

Easy ones!

All of the errors were the same...and all of them were from a previously reported bug with Compound Powers in a Prefab. The error will occur anytime you load one of those prefabs without any active characters (during the program start).

The problem has been fixed already....the fix will be part of the next update.
