Hey all!
Further good news on the performance front:
I've been continuing to do a bit of work on trimming down the number of calculations that are necessary (caching results where possible/feasible, reducing the looping calculations, etc.) and, with the performance tuning made in the 2.0.32a update, have managed to make some fairly big improvements.
The next update will include all of the changes I've been making....I think that you'll see a marked improvement, even over the current performance.
On my system, I've currently got Dr. Destroyer loading up and displaying in under 4 seconds. Not too shabby.
New (blank) characters are pretty much instantaneous. Disturbingly so....I thought that there was a problem with the "New Character" functionality at first....I had created about 7 characters before I bothered to check the open characters menu and saw that it was creating them each time....just too quickly for me to notice.
Changing the campaign rules on Dr. D takes about a second.
I'm going to continue tweaking the system to see just how much I can squeeze it down, but I thought I'd share the news now that the first round of benchmarking tests are in.
