In fiction and folklore, few monsters are as popular as the vampire. No matter what the time and place, it seems you can find a legend or story of a blood-drinking monster that preys upon mortal men by night. Bloodsucker Rampage is a review of some of the different types of vampires and vampire-like monsters found around the world. For the HERO System 6th Edition.

Just to let y'all know what you'll find in this HPA, Bloodsucker Rampage features character sheets for thirteen different types of vampires from around the world, ranging from the traditional Transylvanian variety to some of the oddest blood-drinking monsters ever conceived by man. Six of the character sheets in Bloodsucker Rampage (Lesser Vampire, Greater Vampire, Chiang-Shih, Langsuir, Penanggalan, and Sundal Bolong) have previously appeared in The HERO System Bestiary and are reprinted here for convenience and consistency. The other seven (Bestial Vampire, Realistic Vampire, Asanbosam, Baobhan Sith, Loango, Upir, and Vrykolakas) are new for the Sixth Edition.

That was part of what made me decide to write it -- Halloween's coming! I was thinking about that, and my thoughts turned to vampires, and I thought: "Hey, didn't I write an article about types of vampires for AC that was never published? Maybe I could update it and punch it up a bit with some more research and turn it into a PDF real quick!". And the results are now on sale. ;)

I'm surprised you didn't include Stalker from CV3.

There are two good reasons not to. The first and foremost is that this is a collection of generic vampire character sheets, not named vampires with personalities, backgrounds, and so on. In effect you can think of it as a sort of adjunct to the HSB. The second is including an official Champions character would require me to get it approved by Cryptic. No sense pestering 'em for something as minor as this. ;)

What? No love for the Chupacabra? I suppose it might fall under bestial vampire...
