When choosing a manuever in Martial Arts I am still getting the "Already Chosen" message.

Please post the steps that you take (from program launch) to get that message.
I don't show that behavior at all (unless I actually have already purchased the Maneuver).

1) Launched new version of HDv2
2) Opened character 1
3) Did not change anything on character
3) Opened character 2
4) Changed some characteristics/powers
5) Opened character 3
6) Attempted to add martial arts manuevers and received message. (I was still able to add manuever however)
With character 2 I don't get that message, but upon going back to character 1 I start getting that message.
I also tried seeing if maybe the message was specific to already chosen manuevers for other open characters, but the message appeared for any additional manuever.
...opening character 4 , went straight to Martial Arts and tried to add manuever not already possessed....got same message.
...opening character 5, changed some characteristics, went to martial arts and attempted to add manuever...NO MESSAGE
Maybe changing MAM's first causes the problem?

I think that HD may be correct in giving the warning....
It sounds like you've purchased those maneuvers already. Note: it doesn't matter if you rename the maneuver when you buy it....if you purchase "Basic Strike" and call it "Fist of Death", you will still get the duplicate purchase warning the next time you try to purchase "Basic Strike" on that character.

If you like, I'd be happy to verify this, but I'll need you to post the characters that you're using....let me know which is which and I'll load them in and give it a try. Also, I'd need to know what maneuvers you're trying to purchase when you get the warning.

I thought about that also, but then I started chosing Ranged Martial Arts attacks during the test since all the characters I had open had only Hand-to-Hand Martial Arts.
I got the same messages as described and with that quirky pattern...
But I'll send you one of the ones that got an error.
Edit: Didn't read that you wanted all 5!
How do I add more than one attachment/post?

Either zip them all up together or make a separate post for each.

I'm not having any problems with the character posted.

OK....I closed character 1 which I'll post below and reopened David Ahaz (who was character 4 originally).
Went straight to Martial Arts and picked a ranged MA to make sure that I had no accidental duplication...Got "Already Chosen" Message.
So...closed HDv2 and re-opened. David Ahaz came up automatically and I got the same message as before.
I opened character 1 and whether I changed first or not I still got the same message.
However, character 2 was fine. So was Ch.5
The original char 3 was not OK. I'll send you 1 and 3. I opened them at random and not in the original order.
1 is with this post
3 will be in the next.

Character 3

I have no problems assigning Maneuvers to any of those characters....both HTH and Ranged.
Also, having gone through the code, the values are being compared by display alone....so there really is no way that I can see for this to be causing any problems.
If you want me to look into this any further, you're going to have to post the steps that I asked for.
I need to be able to replicate this if I'm going to adjust anything. In order for me to replicate it, I need to know <i>exactly</i> what you're doing when you get the error.
For Example:
1. Open HD. No characters loaded. No prefabs loaded.
2. Open dorian grey.hdc
3. Click on the Martial Arts tab.
4. Open the Hand to Hand list on the Available tab.
5. Double click "Basic Strike"
...and so on.

Only if you think it's worth it...
Here goes.
1. Opened HD. Nothing loaded
2. Opened Lee An'Lung. Template: Heroic.hdt
Rules:Default1 (only change = Unchecked "Penalize for no 1 pt Similarity), Skin: Metal
3. Tab to Martial Arts
4. Attempted to Add "Choke Hold"
5. Message "Choke Hold has already been assigned to this character. Are you sure that you want to purchase it again?"
6. Selected anyway
7. Tried to select "Basic Shot". Same Warning message.
8. Did not select
9. Deleted Choke Hold (Got "Are you sure...?" message)
10. Attempted step 7 again
11. Again. Warning Message.
12. Closed Character.
Nothing has changed on Lee An'Lung from the version that I sent to you.

I have no problems when I follow that procedure.
Anyone else?

I saw the same thing a while back, but I can't remember what I did to make it happen. I'll add it to my to-do list though. :)

Did you see it on this version (2.0.33) or an earlier one?
I remember when you reported it a while ago (I think it was before we took the testing public), but that problem was fixed (it was an issue with maneuvers in lists).

It was a way earlier version. I don't it recall involving lists, but maybe it did. I certainly haven't seen it recently (like, in the past two weeks at the very least).

Actually, david ahaz, an'lung lee, and dorian grey all had martial arts in lists.
justin alambra and darkfire did not.
Still, you said you did not get that error. Could I have missed an update?

Not if you're running a test version (unless you haven't restarted HD in about 3 weeks, which is when the fix went out).
I've gone through the code (again), and there simply isn't anything that I can see that would cause that warning to appear other than having the particular maneuver purchased already.
Are you, by chance, right-clicking on the maneuver list? Because that will simply purchase the maneuver with no popup definition dialog.....so if you select the available list by right clicking and then try to purchase the maneuver that you right clicked on, you will (rightly so) get a duplicate purchase warning.

I can reproduce the problem consistently with the following steps:
1. Create a new character.
2. Click the Martial Arts tab,
3. Create a new list.
4. Left click once on a maneuver.
5. Click the select butto at the bottom of the maneuver list.
HD then says that the maneuver is already purchased, despite the fact that this is the very first maneuver purchased.
It does not happen without the list, or when adding the maneuver by any method other than clicking select.

Finally!
That's why I need specifics ;)
Thank you very much.
The problem, as it turns out, has already been fixed in my development environment, which is part of what was making it so difficult to track down.
Until the next build goes out (which should be happening shortly), just double click on the ability to assign it.
