So I was thinking of designing a character that was based around being lucky I was wondering about the Deflection power.

Idea was:

Deflection, Persistant(+1/4), Constant(+1/2), Reduced Endurance (0 END, +1/2), Trigger (activating the Trigger is an action that takes no time, Trigger resets automatically, immediately after it activates; Whenever he is attacked; +1) (65 Active Points)

Basicly attacks would fizzle, or something would happen to cause them to miss and it would do this automaticly. All he would need to do is make a roll vs every attack to see if it works.

Would this be a viable power as I have it now? Also if I were to add say Area Effect to it would it allow me to protect myself against AE stuff also?

No, that wouldn't be a viable power. Deflection allows a character to Block a Ranged attack at Range, which means attacks directed against other targets -- if they were directed at him he could simply Block them normally using the rules for Blocking Ranged attacks in 6E2. If a character wanted to maintain Deflection for use purely to protect himself, he'd need to do it using the rules for Uncontrolled Deflection (6E1 187-88), or some similar construction permitted by the GM, to keep it from becoming unbalancingly effective.

Per 6E1 187, Area Of Effect cannot be bought for Deflection.
