I've justed moved to Dunedin Florida and I am looking to find a gaming group in my area. I'm willing to travel if necessary. Are there any Hero, D&D, White Wolf game groups in the area looking for an experienced player/DM? Let me know..

Aw, you couldn't have moved to the S. Florida area could ya? Ya just had to be difficult . . .
Seriously though, you might want to check out the Adventurers Club, a gaming club at USF. There is also a book store right down the street from USF called Merlin's book store (provided I remember this correctly as it has been over five years since I was last in that area. St. Pete and Clearwater both had gaming stores that seemed very active when I was last up there. Brandon, where I lived at the time even had two stores of its own. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of any of them but they were all listed in the phone directories and the conventions in that area, such as Necronomicon and such should have good leads on gamers and locations.
Best of luck to you. :)
Best of luck to anyone looking for people, even me. :(

Hey jguerin
I live in the Seminole area and am trying to get a group together for Saturdays or Sundays. I've got myself and a friend. I've been running a solo Champions game on Saturdays but I'd love to be able to play and take a break from GMing.
Let me know if you may be interested. On our end, we'd prefer a traditional four-color Champions campaign.

I have been looking to GM/play a game in the Tampa area.
It would be cool to run a Hero game again. But I'm not a big fan of 4-color-super-hero genre, I use the Hero System for other stuff: Horror, Fantasy, Modern-ParaNormal, etc. . .
I also GM and play other kinds of games: Shadowrun, Amber, GURPS.

Hey fellas. Im originally from Florida (2nd gen native), ended up in San Diego via the Marines.
My parents live down in Ft Myers and my dad's in really bad shape healthwise; Im considering moving back to Florida to be closer. But, Im a Programmer/Developer so not too many places in FL are really good job markets for me to the best of my knowledge, particulalry Ft Misery/Myers.
So, is there a good tech field in Tampa these days? (I havent been to Tampa since I left the MEPS there in 1993 to ship out to Parris Island). Thanx!

Since I'm new to the area I really can't say for sure but going by whats in the papers I don't think Tampa is any better off than any other large city area at the moment.

There is an Emerald City Two near Oldsmar in Clearwater off McMullon Booth Rd that I get my books from, but they cater to the Comic Book crowd more so than the gamers.

Thats one of the two stores that Emerald owns, I go to the one on Semenol(sp?), It too concentrates more on comics but still has an outstanding gaming section (now if only they had a gaming room....)

KillerShrike-
Well supposedly the Bay region is supposed to be the most high tech area in Florida...and it has more broadband per capita than anywhere else in the nation other than San Francisco.
Personally though for programmers/developers (what I'm into as well), I'm not sure Florida is so good. It's mostly networking and tech support here (at least Orlando is). However, with your military background and Tampa being so important military-wise (it's Centcom's headquarters as well as SoCom's headquarters...plus MacDill AFB) I wouldn't be surprised if there was a big company like McDonnel-Douglas, Boeing, or some other company like that.
I'm kind of in the same bind as you, my dad's health is pretty poor, so I feel like I should stick in the Florida region.
@Greeter-
BTW, I haven't forgotten the group....I'm so busy with the moving that I haven't had time to check the yahoo group. It may be awhile too since I still want to settle in before I get back to RP'ing.

Basically, the job market in Central FL stinks. I am a programmer / DBA (more of the latter at the moment), currently working at Florida Hospital. As far as I can tell, there are a few contract jobs open, and a few perms that are not paying very well. I was out of work for about 3 months before I started at my current position. I would recommend finding a job here before moving, if you can.
