I want several books....

I know your probably loyal to the printer, and I totally get that, but I been waiting for several new books to snag them up and it seems the printers are the holdup. Probably a busy time of year and the like. I know it lines up people for PDF's too which I have bought. But hey I want those books for my Christmas tree. I usually buy both the book and PDF because its nice to be able to print a page for reference especially the Villian books.

It's not a question of loyalty, it's a question of pricing. We hate the wait more than you do, but we're not going to significantly reduce, or even eliminate, our already all-too-small profit margin by switching to a more expensive printer just to get the books faster. ;)

Since Steve doesn't mention it, I would note the other option would be to raise the price to cover the higher printing costs without eroding the profit margin, also not a desirable result.

An adage that started on these boards many years ago, which I've learned to adhere to, is "People forget about 'late,' but they remember 'bad.'"

The fact that these books are running late will be all but forgotten a year and half from now, but a too-high price is nearly as much a barrier to the books' success as shoddy quality would be.

I would pay $10-15 more dollars per book. I love HERO System and have almost everything ever made for it.

When do you think the PDF for solo villians will go live?

Should be pretty soon now, same for the HSEG. Unfortunately we've been a bit victimized this past month with illness; both Fred and I spent a significant portion of the month under the weather, which has slowed some of these processes down. I think I'm just about out of the woods, but father-of-a-toddler Fred is frequently exposed to all sorts of germs that I avoid.

Thanks, for the answer. I usually buy the PDF, Character Packs for HD and the book eventually. So 10-15 more bucks for a book would not matter to me but I am sure I am a minority in that regard.

What the company more buying direct or off an vendor? I am guessing its direct but I have bought some of my PDFs elsewhere occasionally but I can change that if helps the company.

A direct sale earns us more money, but the truth is we're happy if you buy a book regardless of whether you buy it from us or some other retailer of games/PDFs. ;)
