Compound Power

I posted this in the Hero Designer but it occurs to me that it is more of a rules question then just what is HD doing.

when figuring costs for a compound power in an MP it appears that the costs of each power is figured seperately then added together for the total cost of the slot.

Is this correct or if not what is the correct method for calculating powers in this situation

Figure the Active Points in each power and add 'em together. That tells you whether the whole thing fits within the reserve, etc. Then apply the Limitations for each of them separately to get their respective Real Point totals, add those totals together, and divide by 10 or 5 to determine the slot's cost.
