Here's one for you science guys. My apologies if this has been discussed before.

Concept is a teleporting character. This PC can teleport anywhere, to any point on the earth. For the purposes of this question, how he knows where to teleport to is unimportant. The question? How much Teleportation will he need to buy, so as to ensure that he is able to get to any point on the globe from any other point?

Same question, new wrinkle. From any point on the earth, how much Teleportation would he need to buy to reach any point on the moon, no matter the cycle of the month or time of year (if those make a difference), and vice versa?

At lunar apogee (the point when the moon is farthest from the Earth), it's about 405,500 km away, or 202,750,000". Megascale is your friend. :)

Assuming you don't mind Teleporting through the Earth, then you should need an amount of Teleport equal to the Earth's diameter to get anywhere on the planet: about 12756 km, or 6,378,000". If you're worried about high altitude teleports, mountains, you might want to pad that a little bit.

We have always used the diamiter of the Earth(16,000 km but that's probilly wrong) for anywhere on Earth. For the Moon I would have to do some research.

Using Mega-Scale, anywhere on the planet is a +11/4 Advantage. Lunar is a +11/2 Advantage. So you can buy Teleport with the Scalable Mega-Scale for +13/4 and teleport pretty much anywhere you want. :)

OK? Where is Scalable Mega-scale listed?

The Scalable section of it is in the Rules FAQ. It is an additional +1/4 cost to Mega-Scale and allows the power to go from 1km (minimum) to whatever maximum the character purchases the power for.

Yes, where is it? Inquiring minds (without their books) want to know.

Others have covered the use of MegaScale. If the character wants to really reach anywhere, s/he will need a standard Teleport with lots of non-combat multples to reach places [u]less than[/] one kilometer.

Neither time of year nor phase of Luna matter. However, there's a difference (max of ~12,750km) in distance depending on if Luna is above or below the horizon. ;)

Not actually true -- the Moon's orbit is not perfectly circular, and the difference is potentially significant.
