Basicly, with a lack of funds and time, I had to reduce spending for RPG stuff to almost none. Now, since I joind the online game CHS: Court of Dreams, I decided to try to find a copy of the Hero System Basic Rulebook. Except when I got to Hiway 100 (where the only 2 game shops in Milwaukee are located), I found one closed (Adventure Games Plus), and the other one only carring the big names (WotC), and thay can't even order what I want. This coming friday I'll proably try Lost Worlds of Wonder (a comic book shop...prehaps I should call first).
Yes, I know, "order direct". But I would rather buy it from the shop (no waiting for the mailman to deliver it). No, I don't have a phone which could read PDF files, and guess what? My DSi can't read them also. And don't tell me 'go out and buy one'. Diden't you read the first sentence about how tight my spending is?

If a store owner says they can't get Hero Games products from a distributor, they are incorrect. However, if they can't be budged on the topic, simply let them know that they can order it directly from Hero Games.

I know a couple places around here where you can get one. Your best bet though, since all the good Hobby Stores in Milwaukee are basically gone, or have devolved into a "I can Order that for you" format, your best bet is Noble Knight over in Janesville. A bit of a Haul, but WELL worth it. Since I started going there they started carrying more and more Hero stuff, and if you can access their online site, you can have them pull it for you and they'll ship it for a reasonable fee, order it if they don't have it, or have it waiting for you when you walk in the door. Always ask if you don't see it on the shelf, the store isn't very large but the Entire Building, is their Warehouse and it's Stuffed with games...
Place is a gold mine of old games to and they buy/sell/trade if one of the buyers is around. Fair price for about anything, and if you just want store credit, even better price. Can't recommend the place enough.....
~Rex...says go here: http://www.nobleknight.com/ It's a nice drive out in the country side, the owners and worker bees there are awesome. Best Game Store Ever.....

The Drive goes pretty quick but their shipping is pretty good and the stuff arrives in good shape all the time. I usually drive out, hit up some place for food out that way, then cruise back. We all used to run down to Games Plus in Illinois but got the customer service wasn't worth the road trip. Noble Knights is.

Best Game Store Ever.....
I live in Texas and do most of my Hero purchasing direct from Hero Games online. But I have bought from and sold old games to Noble Knight Games. Let me second what Rex said, it's a great store.

Drive only works if you have a vehical to do so. Or a driver's licence.
(Don't want to bore you with a sob story).

Order direct from Hero Games on the website here, it's the best bet I've found.

I've had two comic book stores that also sell games tell me they refuse to stock Hero Games because they sell them as pdf's. Find that nation stupid, but at least one place in town is willing to order. No one where I live keeps any Hero Games books in stock.
It's just easier to get someone to order than to have to go through Canada Customs.
