Before I rile the Canadians, Australians, Brits, etc on this board, I figured I better include another poll for 5th Edition Super Hero teams you want to see that happen to be outside the CU's U.S. of A.

:)

As before, I went with 'official teams' in the books, and current ones as well. One of the reasons Los Defensores de Mejico get no mention is they're disbanded, but by all means if they, or the Northern Guard of Canada would be your pick, go ahead and say so.

Tiger Squad. China should be churning out huge numbers of Metahumans, and their national team ought to be both large and powerful.

Yay ! A response. :)

Oh, most of these (in fact all of them I think) are from 5th Ed. Champions Universe but you can find them summed up at
http://www.herogames.com/FreeStuff/freedocs/CU%20Supers-Full.pdf

Before anyone gripes about the "Fist of Allah" , it turns out, according to the CU (Unless I'm reading that wrong) the Fist is not a team, but one hero. Perhaps Fist can duplicate into 5 though ;)

You are correct about that. The Fist is a single hero. I forgot to change that. Thanks for reminding me. :)

Another for Tiger Squad.

And for some strange reason I like The Starforce the best. I have no idea why, I just like the name of the team. :)

Voting for the Starforce out of pure nostalgia. Hopefully one of them can invoke a Wave Motion Blast ;)

I probably would of voted for "Tiger Squad" if it didn't come so close to be being like "Tiger Teams". Tiger Teams being those teams of people gathered in a corporate world to fix "pressing" issues. Basically an excuse for more meetings from hell. Soon, everything had to have a tiger team and you could wind up in meetings for more hours than any other if you had a wide enough spectrum of duties and skills.
Since it seemed to have come out in force during the Year of the Tiger, I always thought we should of had Rabbit teams the next year.

On the Chinese Superteams, they should have more. Ok, so we got the Tiger Squad, we should have the other animals of their zodiac as well:
Each of these could have their own squad:
Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig, Sheep
---
I could see lots of competion for Dragon Squad, but Rabbit squad just doesn't have the same respect. though if they were armed with deadly throwing pancakes... :D

edit: Whoops, forgot Sheep. Another team with image problems, though they'd probably just go along with it.
edit again: Hmm, Goat isn't listed on another site, so I think Goat & Sheep are the same year.

Despite my natural patriotic tendencies (if the Sentinels from Champions of the North had survived to 5E, no contest :p ), I also vote for the Tiger Squad. The style of a major Oriental superteam is likely to be quite different from those in the West, and several members of this team were actually detailed under 4E, in Watchers of the Dragon. Plus, with the Soviet Union out of the picture, it would be good for globe-hopping PC heroes to occasionally butt heads with heroes from a world power with a different political outlook and agenda.

I wasn't sure who to vote for. I like Starforce for the name, Tigersquad seems to have some cool members from what I saw in the Until Power Database....

but I went with the London Watch, because it has "Blazon" who I thought was great in "Kingdom of Champions" :) Also, I can see some potiential in the team for fleshing out even more.

See, this is the thing I have trouble with in the transition to the 5E universe: I really liked the London Watch, New Knights and Nightwatch from Kingdom of Champions, but I don't know what shape they'll take when the new versions are finally published. I'm reluctant to vote sight unseen just based on the name or the past team.

OTOH the Tiger Squad were written up by Steve Long, so I doubt they'll change much. ;)

Well, as usual, I find myself saying "good point" but , think of it this way... for now, they're open to intrepetation and most LIKELY similar to their old selves. :)

Poor Australia, no super team.

Well from the pictures I've seen of them in the UNTIL Superpowers Database, the Tiger Squad look mighty cool. However, being the patriot that I am I had to vote for Starforce cause they've got a far cooler name then the other Canadian superteam. :D

That's fine by me. I'm quite OK with my PCs being the only Australian team. Apart from anything else, it reduced the kind of distress that comes from "Captain Australia"-style silliness.

Of course, it wouldn't be too hard to slap together an Australian team. There were a few Australian characters in 4th Ed. Aside from Seeker and, yes, well, Captain Australia, there was a guy in Golden Age Champions who could easily have a grandson with similar powers.

Apart from that, and for those without a 4th Ed. collection, just change the names of some of the villains from CKC. Try to avoid any obvious "Australian" flavour, because you will mess it up. Make sure you use British-style spelling. Stir and serve. Oh yeah: people with hyphenated names get beaten up at school, as do descendents of British aristocrats and similar stupid cliches.

Well, don't beat me for a cliche' Alan, but since Australians seem to like calling their nation "Oz" , If I make a group of NPC Super heroes (or PC, if I talk my players into trying a down under setting) I'd like to call the team "The Wizards" :)

Well, I voted for the Turkish group just because it something new and hasn't been done to death....

Fair enough.

Of course, it's caused Oz because Australia is hard to pronounce for someone with an Australian accent. No, really. It tends to become Orstraya, or even just Straya, anytime anyone tries to say it out loud. :)

(Of course, there are various different Australian accents.)

Thanks Assualt :)

What, no one is voting for COMET?
Could it be they prefer Cupid or Vixen?
Or perhaps they're worried they'll be confused with a Household cleaning product? :)

Alan Does that mean we should pronounce your moniker as Ozzault or Orsalt? :D

Ottawa is the seat of Canada's federal government - who's going to buy naming a team from a government town after something that moves fast?

Well, Comets, while appearing to get hot, are actually dirty, cold, and ultimately predictable. Does that count? :)

Well, I have to say that I think Starforce is a much better name. COMET strikes me as infinitely dull, so that fact that I currently live in Ottawa isn't enough to sway my vote. Of course, I'm not originally from Ottawa (who is?), so that might have someting to do with any perceived lack of municipal pride. :)

Just note the first three letters, and use your imagination... :)

I was wildly exaggerating in my previous post, of course, if that wasn't glaringly obvious. Then again, talking BS is an ancient tradition.
