Well, it's going to be 2012 soon, so I'm biting the bullet due to Origins throwing mud in the faces of anyone who works in retail or is a teacher and heading out to California in February, which is much more sacrificable than Memorial Day Weekend from a work perspective.

I'm sure it will be lots of fun. Hopefully, I should have a new product out too. :)

Actually, Origins is the weekend after Memorial Day (not important to you most likely but I don't want to see anyone else get misled) and while I'll concede that it makes it difficult for teachers, you're being extremely over the top in your conclusion that it is a bad time for anyone who works in retail. Yes, it's a likely a bad time for you because you work in the men's clothing sector which is likely quite busy two weeks before Father's Day. But most retail sectors won't be any busier than any other time of the year.

I've also heard (but have not confirmed) that the standard dates were booked out from under them for the next two year which is what precipitated the move and really, given how close Origins already is to Gen Con, the only thing that made sense is to move it earlier (and thus further away from Gen Con). So, I'm not sure that you can really say that Origins is throwing mud in the faces of teachers. Given the emphasis that Origins has placed on teachers, I suspect they are well aware of the unfortunate effect that the move will have on that segment of their audience and I also suspect that if they could have moved the dates to a time that would work for teachers without moving even closer to Gen Con, they would have done so.

So, calm the hyperbole and stop sounding like a talk radio host.
