It takes me a while, okay?

I wasn't sure about 5th Edition when it came out. Good points, bad points. There's no way that a HERO edition will ever really get me 100% in agreement anyway, just as no game system would. And there are some respects where I can be a curmudgeon, having played for 20 years.

But I find myself enjoying leafing through it, and I do like the thoughtfulness that went into it. Great ideas, inspirational points. Yes, this is a great edition of HERO - in a line of great editions, to be sure, but it stands on its own.

If I recall, I did a fair amount of pros and cons, but probably some heavy cons, way back. And I was among those getting disgusted with HERO just before the new junta (:D ) took over.

I've already said before I think the products just keep getting better - but there's been a hint (perhaps, depending just when I wrote it) of insufficiency in the air in my comments. Please strike that from the record.

Fair's fair, so I'd like to just take a few moments to say "job well done". (And although it's just symbolic as the reasons aren't related to 5th directly, it feels like no coincidence I came to this conclusion around the same time I finally gave up my old odd 1 END/5 Base Points and went with 1 END/10 AP - but you'll not get my -1/3" but from my cold dead hands :p )

Okay, enough of the boards for early evening, on to that so-called "real life" thing for a while...

Wow, we're a junta! :)

Seriously, thanx for the kind words. It's always cool to hear when we're doing something the fans like, on balance (since I am fully aware we'll never please anyone 100% -- such is the nature of dealing with an intelligent, insightful fanbase).
