Say, maybe you'd like to have a funky survey put up that tracks each member's current 5th Edition Collection of HERO books? Purely voluntary, natch.

I've got me:

HERO 5th Ed.
Ultimate Martial Artist
Ultimate Vehicle
Champions Universe
CKC
Star Hero
Terran Empire

I can make this list a bit shorter:

Everything that has been print for 5th Edition HERO except the Spacer's Toolkit (too much hard scifi for me) and the PDF ;)

I have everything.

That's right. If it's 5th, I have it all. All the published books. All the PDFs. Herodesigner. The Herodesigner character packs. Shades of Black. I'm a digital hero subscriber. I even have the Herogames Polo shirt from Gencon 2002. I curse the day I wasn't around to get a herogames pocketknife.

If herosystem was music, I would be that guy who is all superior because he was listening before the band got big.

If herosystem sold puppies with their bestiary stats tatooed on their foreheads I would be a dog owner.

Champions
Bestiary
Ultimate Martial Artist
Ninja Hero
Fantasy Hero
Star Hero
Terran Empire
Spacer's Toolkit
Ultimate Vehicle

And I haven't even got them yet! They are all arriving in a few weeks. Been waiting for them for 2.5 months (surface shipping to Australia is a bitch).

Not only that I never played Hero before I purchased these books. Now how is that for faith in a superior system! :)

I have all the print stuff, all the Digital Hero and Shades of Black.

Of course, I got about 3/4 of the print stuff as artist comp copies, so I can still afford to eat. Actually, I buy every book I don't get comps for as a professional point. Many books reference previous books and I need the ref. illustrations.

What Keith Said.

Other than the lack of comp copies. Well, OK, Bestiary and Champions, were comped, cause my name's in the Calculator Commando list. And I got an extra Champions Universe as a gift.

Don't forget Hero Designer and all the Packs. Got those too.

I, too, own every single print product released so far for FREd. As soon as Simon's worked out the bugs in the Mac installer for HD, I'll own that, too. I'm toying with the idea of getting a DH sub and the SoB (hehe) PDF, but a) I'm not sold on PDF's yet and 2) I have all those freaking FREd books I still have to read!!!

Reallt, Steve, you gotta slow down. I can only read so fast. :)

I like SoB very much. It is a fine adventure. I really enjoy Allen's writing style. He seems to cover all the bases a GM might encounter during a game.

As far as Digital Hero goes, just seeing Steve's alternate and additional powers, Darren's Hero Universe material, and Jason's You Gotta Have Character articles every month make DH well worth the subscription price!

As far as the original question, I have every printed product, every pdf product, and every HD product to date; and the collection is only growing. :)

All the Print material. DH, and Shades of Black. Also have Kandris seal, which is one of the finer orginization/supplementary books I have read.

Ive bought all the printed products to date, but I give all of the Star HERO books to a less affluent player who cant reasonably afford it bcs Im not really interested in it -- never been a big SF fan. Its conveniently worked out as either a Christmas, BDay, or Name Day present so far coincidentally with the release dates all being very close.

Hero Designer, DH, All character packs except the Ultimate Vehicle, which I will be ordering soon -- I spent my gaming budget on MTG Online Cards and Temple of Elemental Evil this month.

Have not picked up Shades of Black. Keep meaning to, just havent gotten around to it; not a big pdf fan either.

Curse, curse, curse...

I didn't get to go to Gen Con so I missed the HERO games pocket knife.

I don't have the HERO jacket yet, but I do have the polo and denim shirt.

I don't have the USPD Hero Designer pack yet, but I will once/if I get my money situation around. I do have all the others.

I am a Digital Hero subscriber, so of course I have all the issues, and hope to be an author for it some day.

I have Kandris Seal and Shades of Black, both which are good enough more people should buy.

Still cursing the ones I am missing.

I have most of the 5th books. I still need to pick up Shades OF Black, Kandris Seal & Champions Battle ground. I have Viper & FH Grimore on order.

I have all the DHs but 12 & 13, need to renew my subscription.

I have HD and I'm only missing the UTV pack.

There are a few books on the schedule that don't interest me. BUt for the most part I tend to pick up HG books when the come out. Although lately it's more along the line of sooner or later :)

Actually, you're not missing anything there, herolover. Those weren't a sale item -- they were a sort of promotional giveaway I made on my own nickel to give to friends in the gaming industry and suchlike. So you can fairly leave it off a list of things you can purchase, since they were never for sale. ;)

I'll probably do something similar next year. Right now I'm thinking calculator. But that always makes me long for a calculator that would be pre-hardwired to do Hero math, and I don't even know how I'd go about having such a thing made, much less if I could afford it. ;)

I for one knew that. Unfortunatly, that isn't how it works for a rabid collector. Just knowing such a thing exists yet was never for sale irks the senses of a Hero System Completist. ;)

...you know the catalog from Shads Advertising you got? Guilty. My dad works there, and back when I was still mostly lurking I noticed a thread in which people were saying that a Hero Games calculator would be "nifty", so...

Anyway, as for books I have, my list consists only of:

FREd
HERO System Bestiary

...and since my income is limited, I don't plan to get much else. A few things do appeal, though; I'll probably eventually buy the Ultimate Martial Artist, selected issues of Digital Hero (I need Object Creation!), and any other crunchy bits useful enough for me to scrape together cash for. -- Pteryx

...you know the catalog from Shads Advertising you got? Guilty.

I think that must've gone to the home office in SF; I didn't get it. :( (Unless it's still en route.)

I love looking at catalogs like that. The day after we bought the Hero Games assets from Cybergames, Darren and I were sitting around looking at a couple of them, having fun seeing what we could put a Hero logo on. His girlfriend finally spoke up and said, "You two do realize you're running a publishing company and not a toy company, right?" ;)

I still want the Hero Games super-soaker squirt guns, tho. ;)

I'm expecting to have the entire run by year's end, but for now the lineup includes:

HERO System 5th Edition
The Ultimate Vehicle (I still have three of my six author's copies)
The Ultimate Martial Artist
The HERO System Bestiary
Champions
Champions Universe
Conquerors, Killers and Crooks
UNTIL Superpowers Database
Star Hero
Terran Empire

PS: If the super-soakers become available any time in the next two and a half years, I will definitely buy at least one.

Well, my list is easy:

Hero System Rules (5th Edition)
Fantasy Hero

And I just got Fantasy Hero yesterday!

Seriously, my gaming budget is pretty limited. Here's the list of other gaming stuff I've purchased in the last three years:

Not a very long list, is it?

I'd really like to get Star Hero, too -- Bestiary would be very cool as well, with Grimoire as a "only if I get lots of extra $$" thing on the wish-list.

BobGreenwade
Oct 9th, '03, 01:31 PM

Or maybe a general "HERO Sympathy Gift Fund" can be added to the online store.... :D

There are a few items I still plan to get but I've been doing my part to buy up 5th stuff as soon as it comes out (except Champs, Supers is one genre I don't really get into).

HERO 5th
Beastiary
Ninja Hero
Ultimate Martial Artist
Champions (for the rules useful for other genres)
Until Super Powers Data Base (helping me make it until the Grimore comes out)
Ultimate Vehicle
Spacers tool kit
StarHero
Fantasy Hero
Hero resource kit

The Grimore and MMM will be added as soon as they arrive

Blue
Oct 9th, '03, 04:26 PM
Got it all. Everything actually published as of 10/9 (up to and including the FH Grimoire) is mine. All Champions, Starhero and Fantasy Hero.

And compulsive as I am, I will continue, even after my friends tell me they don't want to play some of these games.

But this is still a capitalistic society, so I say more power to you. In fact, you might be able to capitalize an entire line of HERO Products just by creating false demand for high return-on-investment collectibles.

And then, of course, DOJ would quite naturally rule the world. Win-win; thats how I see it.

Alas this is going to truly date me.

I own all printed hero system products from 1989 to the present.

I own all 5th Edition Material with the only exception being Kandris Seal. Don't know how I missed that one but it will be rectified soon. I also own all of the 4th edition pdf's and all 5th edition pdf's including all digital hero and previous to that all EZ Hero put out. I even have a copy of the WofV module. Alas I am one of those packrat collectors. :D But then again I have been running a champions or hero system game rather conituously since 1989. I own Meta creator and Hero Designer and egarly await Hero Designer v2

Mind control hit so hard I don't even recognise it as such. :D
