Whoops, Steve. I think you got one wrong. Looking through the rules question, I noticed that you said that martial throw does not allow attackers to use their own velocity in the +v/5. This directly contradicts the UMA, at least in the Speedster Martial Arts package which suggests exactly such a move.

The answer printed in the Rules FAQ states:
Q: Can a character Grab another character, move to build up some velocity, and then use the velocity to smash the Grabbed character into something to add velocity/5 (or the like) to STR damage?
A: As a default rule, no, because Martial Throw damage depends on the target’s own velocity (though as UMA discusses, the relative velocity of target and attacker can also factor in).
I can certainly update and amend that to allow for things like Passing Strike -- that's why I say "as a default." The point is, it would be unbalancingly effective to allow characters to routinely go around grabbing people, running/leaping, and getting extra damage for that without paying for a Maneuver or anything else. It would completely change the nature of many combats, and give an edge to bricks, who don't need any help.
