The supremely talented Patrick Rothfuss (author of the superb Kingkiller Chronicles) and I are teaming up for a charity event at StellarCon 36 (http://www.stellarcon.com/) (March 2-4, High Point, NC)!

Pat's going to run a HERO System game set in the Kingkiller world at the con, and I will be one of the players. The rest of the seats at the table are being auctioned off to support Pat's excellent Worldbuilders charity; you can find 'em on eBay.

So if you're attending StellarCon, or want to attend StellarCon, or just want to play in a really awesome game, get to biddin'!

Yes, it definitely is. ;)

Originally the idea was that I would run the game and Pat would play. That would make more sense "thematically." But then it occurred to me, "Wait a damn minute. I really shouldn't be running games for him in his world." So, since he's already well-versed in HERO and running campaigns for his friends anyway, we switched it around so he runs and I play. We toyed with the idea of me playing Kvothe, but for various reasons we decided that was a Bad Idea. I'll settle for a standard pre-gen. ;)

Just an update -- bidding for each of the three seats being auctioned in advance of the con is already above $300!

Naturally, this is mostly due to my presence at the table, I feel sure. ;)

Yup, pretty much. StellarCon is basically my "hometown con"; it was the first one I ever attended (StellarCon 7, waaaaay back when ;) ). Pat Rothfuss doesn't show up every year, sadly, but they've been around long enough that they usually have a pretty decent slate of guests.
