Will the new VIPER sourcebook have a Hero Designer pack created for it? How about the Fantasy Hero Grimoire?

We haven't firmly decided yet. Since (a) we didn't have any one playtester enter all of either book into HD to check the math, and (b) sales of the Character Packs don't justify spending significant amounts of money to hire someone to do that, if it does happen it probably won't be for a while.

Steve,

Is this something that a rabid HERO fan could do on a volunteer basis for a little quid pro quo? Possibly a "thank you" in the front of a future HERO publication, Digital Hero, or some HERO swag? Just an idea.

Well, I suppose it's something we could talk about, if someone were really interested. We've paid for that sort of work in the past, and ideally will be in a position to pay for it again at some point (i.e., the point at which these products sell better ;)), but I suppose there are many forms of "payment" that could be involved.

At one point I was working with a fan who was cataloguing all the abilities and Disads in our books on a similar sort of arrangement, but it only lasted for a short period; either it was too much work or real life got in the way.

After all, most of us are trying to scramble together extra cash to purchase HERO product anyway. I know that I at least would take "payment" in value of new product. :)

And I will chip in that they product is definately worth what you are charging for it. I have bought almost all of them and have been nothing but pleased. The USPD was a godsend. I have made Prefabs of my own ofcourse and eagerly await HD 2.0. It is this kind of tool that makes gaming easier.

Of course to tell you the truth, I used it mostly for messing around with concepts and characters...as much as preparring for games....

I agree I have greatly enjoyed the ease of use of the Character packs so far and have also used the USPD for just playing with ideas also. Of course I am one of those packrat people who always need more stuff to collect. :P
