Your Tax Dollars At Play

I know Tracy Chapman (the radical blueswoman) would despise me for this job I do this holiday season, but so far it's been very interesting.

As you may know, kettle workers stand in the entrances of stores, malls, etc. collecting donations for passersby. It's a system that works surprisingly well comparatively speaking; people tend to be generous on shopping days.

One incident is especially interesting: there was a woman on my first day Friday who stuck in a five dollar ...

So now I can have a HERO Boards blog. Isn't that lovely? Now I can blow up the Earth and have an unobstructed view of Venus....

what do I use a HERO blog for? Probably to talk about myself. So, here goes (once the biscuits are out of the over)....

I start my holiday job on Friday, as a bellringer (aka "Kettle Worker") for the Salvation Army. Four weeks of standing out in the cold and ringing a bell in hopes people will donate to the worthy cause.
