  1. Review Order & Timeline

by , Oct 19th, '07 at 07:49 AM (Cellular Smoke Signals)
I've missed several self set deadlines to read a book and finish a review of it. This annoys me, specifically it annoys my inner OCD.

So I'm writing down the schedule publicly in hopes that I'll stick to it, or closer to it.

    Week Of:
10/15 - Turakian Age; Ninja Hero; Character Creation Handbook
10/22 - Gadgets & Gear; UNTIL: Defenders Of Freedom; The Ultimate Vehicle
10/29 - The Mystic World; Equipment Guide
    11/05 - Pulp Hero; Alien Wars ...

  2. Broken Alarm Clock

by , Oct 16th, '07 at 05:54 PM (Cellular Smoke Signals)
My alarm clock broke. It stopped making noise.

This saddens me. My alarm clock and I go back almost 20 years. It's a beautiful thing. It tells the time in red LED. It has an alarm clock that makes that horrible Alarm Clock Noise. It does nothing else. I got it at a Radio Shack in the misty past. . . you know, back when they were cool.

And now it doesn't make that wonderfully horrible noise anymore.

  3. TA Review Done; NH half done

by , Oct 15th, '07 at 07:57 PM (Cellular Smoke Signals)

I did manage to start reading Ninja Hero in the interim. About halfway through the book now (short compared to TA) and should have that up tomorrow or so. I need it up tomorrow to get back on schedule.

The plan is 2 reviews a week, past few weeks have seen one. This week I want Ninja Hero and Character Creation ...

  4. Turakian Age

by , Oct 12th, '07 at 08:18 AM (Cellular Smoke Signals)
Sometimes I can't decide if big thick setting books with lots of information are a good thing or a bad thing.

Sometimes I wonder is not drawing a flow chart wouldn't help figure out all the convoluted relations of the various nations wouldn't help. . .

Hopefully I'll get the review finished and edited tonight or sometime very early tomorrow.

TA is big place. With lots and lots of kingdoms and different peoples. It's really cool.

    I've discovered ...

  5. Books, Reviews, & Crossed Eyes

So I'm sitting there reading Turakian Age, I read Villains, Vandals, And Vermin earlier in the day while stuck with a slow work day. VVV is a short bit, under 140 pages and large stat blocks make Character Books easy to read. TA is bigger, with lots of text.

After a while, when reading a book to review it, my eyes cross. Mostly when I get to sections that are basically the same - like the descriptions of the Realms. The bonus is all the descriptions are in the same easy to read and ...
