  1. Weighing up...

    My last post about "scaling up" reminded me, I've been having irregular health assessments at the gym, basically stepping on magic scales that measure weight, body fat%, and sundry other measures. In July, having exercised only minimally over the previous two months due to study pressures (I was only getting to the gym once a week, if at all), I was 95.1 kg with 26.7% body fat. In early September, still fairly erratic with my exercise, this became 95.2 kg and 27.2% body fat. At this ...

  2. Scaling up...

    I took some time off the boards earlier this year to finish my degree. However, since I finished, I have been feeling very burnt out. There were things I wanted to do instead of study, but kept putting them off. Now, every time I think about these other things, which are supposed to be fun, I put them off because for some reason they seem like work. Even posting to this board takes an effort of will. Which is why I am making this post - I am going to start doing some of these things I have wanted ...

  3. I've Graduated!

    In 2005, I began studying towards a Bachelor of Computer and Information Science degree as an external student - a degree-by-correspondence, if you will. I got credit for a number of subjects due to already having a Diploma of IT, but I still had to finish 14 subjects. At the same time I was working full-time and helping my wife raise our two kids.

    Today I received the results of my last two exams - two Distinctions. That makes the final tally: 4 x High Distinctions, 5 x Distinctions, ...

  4. Returning to scale

    Stepped on the scales this morning: 94.5 kg. Where I was before Xmas, but given my recent erratic exercising, that's pretty good.

    I'll see if I can get down closer to 90 kg by my birthday in mid-September. 90 would be good, but I'd be happy with 92.

  5. A-weigh we go....

    Looking back over my sporadic blog posts, I realise I am overdue for a weigh-in. The last one was in February. Since then I have started playing basketball again (consisting of one training run and one game per week) in addition to going to the gym at work. However, a succession of minor hamstring injuries and random bye weeks has interfered with the basketball, and the pressure of Uni caused me to skip a number of after work gym sessions towards the end of the semester, so things haven't been ...
