Infrequent Musings

A place where I post thoughts and musing - likely very infrequently, and it will include pdates on my Digital Hero writing, for those that might be interested.

  1. An idea to really annoy fanatics (SF fans that is).

    After reading the comments on different thread on the new ST movie, and how intense people get about their fiction, it brought to mind something I've been thinking about doing for years... when I have the money to blow.

    Buy a Battlestar Galatica (Original Series) Jacket. Have a Star Trek Pin/communicator. One shoulder has a Stargate Patch, the other a Babylon 5. On the back is the rising Pheonix thing from Star Wars.

    Then go to a SF con and walk around.

  2. The Dark of the Year

    It's that time of the year where light is scarce and night is long.

    Depression is photosensitive.

    As much as I love the holidays, the cheer, the family, the time off for my birthday.....

    It just hangs in the back, and jumps when I am not guarding against it.

    The beast comes out in the dark of the year.

    I hate it.

    I try and fend it off with my medication (which helps immensely - I'd likely be immobile or suicidal ...

  3. What a month

    I haven't done much writing this month. Working longer at both jobs, getting ready for the holiday, looking for a house... sheesh.

    So I have really pulled back on my board use - I still come here, but I have pretty much given up on RPGnet, and I barely hit ENworld. I find the news on 4th ed D&D interesting, mostly because I am a frustrated game designer* and I enjoy watching the process about what choices they make, and why.

  4. First post and some DH commentary

    Well, I decided to use the Hero Forum blog to muse and vent.

    At this point, I'm going to ramble on about my Digital Hero offerings in the works.

    I'm working on a series (the first one has been published) about fantasy archetypes, and twisting them out of standard default mode - Paladins that aren't holier than thou and aren't "lawful stupid". Clerics that aren't cloistered, or second line fighters with healing capacity. Admittedly many of these archetypes ...
