  1. Stray Hunt

I tend to fall into a schedule. Some people call it a "rut". I call it a "path of convenience". Anyway, I usually save taking my dog to the duck park for Wednesdays. For some reason I got an itch to go on Tuesday.

So after walking my dog around the park, meeting a few other dog owners I usually see, I took my dog by some bushes. Something growled at me.

I glanced over and there was a tiny little dog (about 10lb) with tan fur, almost the same ...

  2. Howdy Occifer

2:30 this am, the dog gets up and runs out to the living room and barks. Not a vicious bark (my dog doesn't have that one) but his steady "Hey, there's a cat in the yard" bark. I try to ignore it. But he keeps at it. I then realize I can hear helicopters.

So I get up, slip on my jeans and t-shirt and walk out to find a cop car parked (across the end of my drive way), and two more just a couple houses down, one of those with its lights flashing. As we stand there I can ...

  3. Two Visits to the Bark Park

My dog is an enigma to me. I've watched The Dog Whisperer and even read some of Caesar Milan's first book, but I don't always recognize what he describes and when I do recognize the stuff I can't do what he does to get it to stop seemingly instantly! Anyone who has watched his show realizes he's like some kind of magician.

So anyway, the reason my dog is an enigma to me stems from his interaction with other animals. If he encounters a dog his size he seems happiest, though he gets ...

  4. Prisoner in my own home

The warden: 16 lb. ball of fur.

It turns out that since getting a dog I am far less productive than I was before. The main reason is that every time I go to do something, my 18" shadow appears. My dog Henry has made it his life's ambition to follow me everywhere, and whenever I attempt to do something he's there to try and interject himself.

Examples include gardening (where he decided he'd be helpful and dig a hole... which would have been nice if he didn't ...

  5. Started to make an AD&D character...

With only one session left in my friend's AD&D campaign, the weightiness of the character didn't seem all that important. It wasn't going to be a long-term character after all.

So I'd been toying withe this one-joke wonder of a character...

    SHEEN, Chaotic Neutral, Vatican Assassin/Warlock.
Rumor is that he is a descendant of Adonis and therefore would have his DNA. He'd be part of the Tiger Nomads of the north of Greyhawk, so tiger's blood runs through ...
