Blue

Been a while since I spoke of my house trevails. There was a gas issue; Took the management company FOREVER to fix it. Then they found another gas leak, this one in the back yard under the pavement between the house and the garage.

So they had to cut a trench through the cement and lay the pipe there, then refill it. The guy actually did a nice job. However, he has yet to re-attach the stove or the water heater to the gas line, both of those connections being capped.

Inspection (mostly) passed.

The hangup is that the folks who were supposed to fix the gas leak failed to do so, but said they did. So we showed up with the inspector and he could check everything except the gas. Now we'll have to call him back out once they've done that. Otherwise the inspection held up.

The termite inspector found a minor issue. There's an overhang that connects the two buildings (Garage and House) that was put up by the previous tenants. Seems ...

House no longer listed as "Active" on the listings; now "Pending Sale"

This week the Real Estate company that is handling the property has to get a guy out to fix a gas leak, then we have our inspector come out and kick the tires. And if it's all acceptable, we continue on to the next phase.

My offer has been accepted.

The lack of an exclamation point on that last sentence is purely due to the realization of having to pay for all this, do all the wrangling to get things flowing on schedule, which is something everyone tells me does NOT happen easily. I foresee a lot of sleepless nights ahead until this is done and perhaps even after, as I use the money the seller is returning to me after closing to make the place into somewhere I'll be proud of.

Haven't had much to blog lately. Most places have been substandard. Right now I'm waiting on my real estate agent to get back to me with paperwork on my latest (and 5th overall) offer. She's having problems with accessing the official sites she needs to get to. So again, tech support is my enemy.

Anyway, it's an intersting case. I saw a place well over a month ago that was a "maybe". I kept tossing it aside because it was going to be too much to bring the kitchen up ...
